Kerbside collection delays – Thursday 24 April
We're experiencing some delays with kerbside collections today due to a road closure in the Mercury Bay North area and delays continued from yesterday.  As a result, some scheduled collections may not be completed today.
Affected areas include:
• All properties past the Matarangi turn-off, including Te Rerenga and Whangapoua (Glass, Food and Recycling)
• Some properties in Mercury Bay North areas of Kūaotunu and Matarangi (Glass and Food)
Our kerbside contractor will return to complete these collections tomorrow afternoon (Friday 25 April, ANZAC Day), from 1pm onwards.
All collections should be wrapped up in a couple of hours.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we work through these unexpected issues.

Reminder, Tairua, Pāuanui, Thames Rural South and Thames & Surrounds yellow week recycling collections will take place on Saturday 26 April.

Check out your collection calendar here

Our Refuse and Recycling Transfer Stations will be closed until 1pm on ANZAC Day, Friday 25 April.

Last chance to have your say: Proposed changes to summer kerbside collections

ap-consultation-social-1080x1080_final.pngWe’re proposing to reduce summer rubbish and glass collections on the East Coast to once a week. This keeps collections more frequent than the rest of the year but less frequent than before.

What would change?

  • Rubbish and glass would be collected once a week during peak summer, matching the recycling schedule.
  • Off-peak collections would stay the same.

While this change affects the East Coast, all wards would benefit from cost savings, with ratepayers saving an average of $33. Eastern communities would save even more.

Have your say before Tuesday 29 April.
