Make a Formal Complaint

You can use this form to make a formal complaint to Council. Before you begin, please read the information below to make sure this is the right process for your concern.

When should you make a formal complaint?

Use this form when:

  • Council has not done what it said it would do
  • You disagree with a decision Council has made which affects you directly
  • You are unhappy with the behaviour of Council staff or contractors
  • You believe Council has not provided good service

What is not a formal complaint?

Some issues are handled through other policies or processes, rather than the formal complaints process. These include:

Although the Council will consider all complaints received, it reserves the right not to investigate vexatious or frivolous complaints. Consideration of your complaint does not mean that your complaint will necessarily be upheld or resolved in your favour.
