Borrowing from our libraries is easy, but there are some important things you should know. 

As part of our Tough Choices decisions, fees and charges for this service increased from 1 July 2026. These changes help address rising costs while keeping rates as affordable as possible. Find out more here.

Fees and Charges

Holds and reservations

  • Reservations $1.00 per item, excluding children's books. You can place holds on items from our District Libraries and participating Community Libraries. 
  • Interloans start at $7.00 per item. We source these items from libraries outside of our district. Interloan prices may vary if we can't source your item from a library we have a reciprocal lending agreement with.

Overdue fines

Our District Libraries are fines-free - you will not be charged an overdue fine for returning a book late.

Lost and damaged items

These are charged to you at the replacement cost of the item, plus a $10 admin fee. 

 

Unpaid accounts

We will make multiple attempts to contact you before we consider debt collection. If we still can't reach you, overdue accounts will be sent to debt collection and further charges may apply.
