Coromandel Peninsula Blueprint

The district-wide Blueprint brings together a range of existing plans and the aspirations of the community to ensure we achieve the district we want, rather than leave it to chance or in the hands of others.

The Blueprint is a joint effort between those agencies that share the responsibility as environmental guardians, planners and providers of services and infrastructure across our district.  The project partners represented on the decision-making Political Steering Group are: Thames-Coromandel District Council, Waikato Regional Council, Hauraki Whaanui and the Department of Conservation

These project partners recognised that the increasing pressures of growth on the Coromandel’s water, land, coast and marine resources needed to be managed in an integrated manner.

Key documents, including the District Plan, the Regional Policy Statement and Iwi Management Plans.

Our Council has not adopted the Local Area Blueprints (LABs), but has instead received the report and will use the Long-Term Plan process to consult the community on issues raised.
