Stay safe on our roads
If you're visiting us or out and about over King's Birthday weekend:
- Take regular breaks to stay alert if you're travelling here from outside the district
- Allow plenty of time to arrive safely at your destination so you don’t need to rush
- There are ongoing roadworks both locally and on State Highways - be patient and follow any instructions from the road crews
- Drive to the conditions - many of our roads are narrow and winding and require caution
- Keep a safe following distance from vehicles in front and give cyclists plenty of space as you pass
