Cyclone Gabrielle Business Recovery Grant
In a direct response to the recent storm events Central Government has announced the creation of the Cyclone Gabrielle Business Recovery Grant.
To be eligible for this funding

You’re facing significant and sustained cashflow issues due to continued challenges with customer access, ability to source stock, supply chain issues, inability to operate as usual due to the physical damage to equipment or premises, or delays in insurance assessment and repairs.

Your business is otherwise viable both before and after the storm events.

You are not receiving any funding from the Ministry for Primary Industries recovery fund.

You commit to acting in line with employment law and with due regard to your employees.
Fund applications close Friday 31 March 2023.

Drop in sessions
We are looking holding drop in sessions across the district for the Business Recovery Grant. The purpose of these will be to inform our businesses about the Business Recovery Grant and take any questions people might have around this.

Assessment process
The Thames-Coromandel District Council has been designated the organisation responsible for the assessment and distribution of this grant funding to affected businesses. An Independent Advisory Panel consisting of business representatives from the Waikato region will make recommendations on funding application.
The Independent Assessment Panel will use the following funding guidelines when it comes to assessing applications.
Exceptions to the funding guidelines for self-employed operators and Businesses with 1-5 staff will be considered in exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Public notification
A list businesses awarded a Business Recovery Grants will be made public on our website at the conclusion of the fund.
