2025 Pre-election Report

Before local body elections, all councils must prepare a pre-election report that includes the requirements set out in the Local Government Act 2002. If you can vote in Thames-Coromandel district or you’re considering standing as a candidate for the 2025 elections, this report is for you. It will help you understand more about the district and our Council - who we are, what we do and some of the challenges that lie ahead for us. 

The 2025 Pre-election Report(PDF, 2MB) provides an overview of Council’s structure, information about voting options and the new Te Tara o Te Ika Māori Ward, our key challenges and opportunities and some of the major works projects we’re investing in over the coming years. It also outlines Council’s financial position and offers transparency around our performance on key financial measures. Our financial statements cover the three years before election year (2025) and the three years after, as well as the 2025 election year.
