Our Council welcomed Oonagh Hopkins today to the staff team as our new Group Manager Corporate Services.
This is a role on Council’s Senior Leadership Team, reporting to Chief Executive Aileen Lawrie alongside our Infrastructure Group Manager Mo Imtiaz, Regulatory Group Manager Brian Taylor and Community Group Manager Jeanette Wikaira.
Oonagh replaces Donna Harvey who left Thames-Coromandel District Council in late May after 11 years of service.
Oonagh has had 20 years’ experience at Rotorua Lakes Council in a range of senior leadership roles – governance, corporate planning, partnerships, business support, and going way back as a rates officer.
“When we began to recruit a replacement for Donna, the Senior Leadership Team told me to find someone who is a safe pair of hands, who is nurturing and will be able to take care of you and the Corporate Services Group. And that is exactly who we found,” said Aileen at a morning cup of tea today to welcome Oonagh.
“She’s an excellent addition to the Senior Leadership Team, who brings a host of experience to supporting our leaders in a political environment,” Aileen said.
The Corporate Services Group takes in the Governance Support, Information Services, Legal, Finance, Property and Facilities, and Risk and Assurance teams.
“It’s an absolute privlege to be here,” said Oonagh. “I’m really looking forward to being part of the Thames-Coromandel team, being involved in projects and getting stuck in.”
