Kerbside collection operates on an alternating schedule, with recycling bins collected one week and rubbish bins the next. This system ensures that recycling and general waste remain separate, with no opportunities for materials to be combined during collection.
Once collected, recycling is then transported to our consolidation facility, where it's transferred into large containers and sent to a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for processing.
To maintain the integrity of the recycling stream, regular audits are conducted to monitor bin contents for contamination. If a bin contains a significant amount of non-accepted materials, it may not be collected by the recycling vehicle. This approach ensures that only clean, acceptable recyclables are processed at the MRF.
