Proposed Community Funding Policy
Across the district, communities are doing incredible things: restoring local environments, running events, improving facilities, and supporting wellbeing.
Council funding helps make many of these initiatives possible. But our current Grants Policy is outdated and doesn’t reflect how communities operate today.
That’s why we’ve developed the Proposed Community Funding Policy: a clearer, more streamlined approach to how Council supports community-led initiatives.
Now we want your feedback.
We want to hear from anyone with an interest in community funding, including iwi, community groups, volunteers, event organisers, residents and ratepayers.
Your feedback will help shape the final policy and ensure our funding approach is fair, clear, and works well for communities across the district.
Feedback period opens Monday 2 March and closes Monday 1 May 2026.
