Several sites are under stop-go management while road works take place. The site at the 15km mark has periodic stop-stop full closures during the day from Monday-Friday for several months.
A variety of artists in Whangamatā will be opening their studios displaying a fabulous range of art work. A great reason to “bike-hop” around town to the studios. Children are welcome. Start at the Whangamata Information Centre Port Road to collect a studio map and opposite at The Little Gallery situated at427 Port Road. Then head to the next studio’s at 306 Hetherington Road,105 Kea Street and137 McKellar Place. Studios are open Saturday and Sunday.
