Drop in at Mercury Bay Library, Thames Library, and Tairua Library these school holidays!!

We'll have challenges to try, crafts to make and games to play!

  • All sessions are free of charge!
  • No bookings are required for these sessions - drop in on the day!
  • Sessions take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays,10:30am-11:30am.

Thames Library events

Every weekday

Bookings are open now for our brand-new escape room! Get your team together and find your way out of the jungle. You have 30 minutes to escape!

 

Week 1

Tuesday 13 January

Bring rocks to life! Create your own rock faces full of personality.

Wednesday 14 January

Shake, sparkle and explore - create your own mini sensory bottle.

Thursday 15 January

Create a chia pet with personality. Decorate it, name it, and watch its wild hair sprout at home! 

 

Week 2

Tuesday 20 January

Design a tiny land of wonder: fairy gardens, dinosaurs... your imagination decides!

Wednesday 21 January

Fold, design and decorate your own beach landscape to take home!

Thursday 22 January

Create your own floating ball game and see howe long you can get your ball to float in the air.

 

Week 3

 

Tuesday 27 January

Design bold jungle jewellery and wear your wild side home!

Wednesday 28 January

Design a door sign with your name - jungle or dinosaur themed, it's your choice!

Thursday 29 January

Can you crack the clues? Complete the jungle scavenger hunt and win a reward!

Puffy Painting – have a go with our crafty art supplies

Sock Puppet Comedians - teach your hand puppet some great jokes to share

Oh the Places You'll Go... on our Seuss-inspired scavenger hunt!

Croquet Challenge: Test out your croquet skills! Come and have a game at the library. 

Summer Reading Challenge: Adopt a shell to take home. Snap a photo of you reading with your shelly friend to enter our competition! Contact Kayla at Tairua Library to learn more.
