Changes to your Food Registration
Amending your food registration details
If you need to change any of the details of your food registration i.e., changes to your scope of operations or current operator's contact details etc., you need to let us know.
To notify us of an amendment to your food registration, please complete our Application to Amend form and email it to us at customer.services@tcdc.govt.nz. Alternatively, you can post it to us or drop it to one of our Council offices.
Suspending your food registration
If you are not currently trading but wish to keep your food registration active i.e., close your business over winter and reopen in spring, you can choose to voluntarily suspend your food registration. The minimum period you can do this for is 3 months and the maximum period for suspension is 12 months.
If you voluntarily suspend your registration, and your verification is due while your registration is suspended, your verification will be carried out when your suspension finishes, and you begin operating again.
To notify us you are not currently trading and wish to suspend your food registration, please complete our Notification form and email it to us at customer.services@tcdc.govt.nz. Alternatively, you can post it to us or drop it to one of our Council offices.
Surrendering your food registration
If you sell or close your food business and are no longer operating, you are required to let us know. You can do this by emailing us at customer.services@tcdc.govt.nz. Once we have been notified, we will surrender your registration in our system and let MPI know.
