Thames-Coromandel Mayor, Councillors and Community Boards confirmed

Final results for this year’s local election confirm Peter Revell as Mayor alongside his team of elected members.

Progress and preliminary votes were released last weekend, indicating which election candidates have been successful in their campaigns to represent our communities.

Today, final results confirm the appointments.

Progress and preliminary votes consist of all votes except for special votes, which are counted separately.

Final results include the special votes and can, in some elections, change an indicated outcome.

However, in Thames-Coromandel there has been no change despite some initial narrow margins between some candidates.

Mayor Peter is a returning elected member, having served the previous term as a Councillor and the term before that as a Community Board member.

Our new elected members gathered in Thames today to meet each other and share aspirations for the term ahead.

Earlier this week, Revell announced Councillor John Grant as Deputy Mayor.

Committees and their respective chairpeople will be announced in due course, as with the chairpeople for our Community Boards.

Our Council’s Mayor, Councillors and Community Board Members are scheduled to meet for their inaugural meeting on Friday October 31 from 8:30am, when they will be sworn in.
