A warning about no swimming, fishing or shellfish gathering around the Whangarahi Stream is in place following an overflow of treated wastewater on 9 July. Following the clean-up, environmental monitoring is still in progress.

Our updated Dog Control Policy and Bylaw will come into effect on 18 May 2023, after they were adopted by Council at its meeting on 16 May.
In addition, our Council adopted amended bylaws for Activities in Public Places and Advertising and Signs, both to come into effect on 23 June 2023.
The Dog Control Policy and Bylaw seeks to provide adequate opportunities to fulfil the exercise, recreational and socialisation needs of dogs and their owners, while minimising any danger, distress or nuisance caused by dogs.
