Being prepared for the worst and knowing what to do in emergency situations could save your life and protect your property. 

Here's a quick checklist of the basics

  • Do I have an emergency plan for the hazards in my area?
  • Do I have 3 days of emergency supplies (including medicine)?
  • Do you have an accessible Go Bag packed?
  • Do I need assistance, and if so, who can I ask to help me?

Here's some common ways to stay up-to-date on possible or unfolding emergencies

  • Follow unfolding events on our Council Facebook page.
  • Download Red Cross Hazard App and GeoNet Geological Hazard App from the App Store.
  • Listen to your local radio stations: Radio NZ and 756AM.
  • Check your community notice boards at Colville General Store, Colville Hall, and Colville Social Services.
