Candidates’ Forum - Thames

Next date: Saturday, 30 August 2025 | 12:00 PM to 03:00 PM

This event will be held at the Thames Civic Centre Auditorium and hosted by the Thames Business Association (TBA).  Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the candidates after the event.

Doors open at 11:30 am with the event running from midday to 3:30pm – order of appearance (times approximate)

1. Candidates for Mayor – 12-12:50pm
2. Candidates for Thames Ward Councillor – 1-1:50pm
3. Candidates for Thames Community Board – 2-2:35pm
4. Candidates for Māori Ward – 2:45-3:05pm
5. Candidates for Waikato Regional Council – 3:15-3:30pm

The event is open to the public and will also be live-streamed –  live stream details to be confirmed.

There will be a moderator and written questions can be submitted to them either in advance (by email to: manager@thamesbusiness.co.nz) or on the day – they will also be collected during the speeches.

The TBA is hosting the event and providing an opportunity for people to see and hear the candidates. The TBA are NOT endorsing any candidates, rather ensuring that voters have a chance to learn for themselves what each candidate stands for.
