Hono Mai ki te Whare Pukapuka - Join the Library

Anyone who lives in New Zealand can join our District Libraries. You do not need to be a Thames-Coromandel ratepayer or resident.

Types of memberships

Adult membership 
Applies to people over 18 year of age who wish to borrow from our District Libraries. 
Junior and teen membership Applies to people under 18 years of age who wish to borrow from our District Libraries.
Digital-only membership Applies to people who only wish to access our online services.
 
All memberships are valid for 12 months, but you can extend your membership each year by updating your contact details.

How do I join the Library?

Sign up online

1. Fill in our online registration form to get your temporary library membership number. You can use this as your user ID number to access our online resources for up to two weeks.

2. Visit your local District Library branch within two weeks to activate your library card.

3. You're now ready to go.
 
If you're signing up someone who's under 18 years old, please use the 'junior' membership option on the form.

Sign up in person

1. Visit your local library

2. Fill in our online registration form to get your temporary library membership number.

3. Activate your library card with one of our friendly staff members.

Sign up for digital-only membership

  1. Fill in our online registration form and ensure you check "Digital Only" on the first page
  2. You'll receive an e-mail with your temporary membership number. 
  3. You're now ready to go. Visit our eBook and eAudio library, ePlatform by Wheelers, and use your new membership number and password to log in.

This service is free, and it's valid for 12 months.
