Boat Ramp and Boat Trailer Parking Fees
Please note: If you have two boats but only use one at a time, you can register your towing vehicle's registration on your boat pass. This means you can choose which boat to use without needing two separate passes.
Going boating? Use our new QR code payment system
If you're heading out on the water, we've launched a new, easy-to-use payment system to pay for boat ramp and trailer parking fees – right at the ramp. Council Boat Ramp Passes can be used at any Council-operated boat ramp.
Simply scan the QR code with your mobile, using your QR scanner app, camera or Google Lens, open the browser link, then follow the steps to make your payment on the spot, using your credit card, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
We have signage in place at all ten ramps with a unique QR code for each ramp, and easy-to-follow instructions for scanning, paying and downloading your receipt.
If you don't have a smartphone, you can still pay in person at our Council offices and participating retail outlets (scroll down to see the full list).
Our Council compliance officers will have an app to scan and enter licence plates to check that there’s a valid pass. For the next 12 months, we’ll also be checking for valid permits on drawbars. All your current permits will remain valid until they expire.
The new system replaces physical ramp permits at the nine Council ramps below.

Non-Council managed facilities
There are also many other boat ramps provided by various clubs and community groups including:
Why have these fees changed? As a result of the Annual Plan consultation process and the feedback we received, our Council adopted new boat ramp and trailer parking fees that places more of the cost of maintaining these facilities on the users rather than general ratepayers. Read about the rationale for this decision here.
