Are you able to find positive solutions and have a desire to make our community a better place?

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with an engaging communication style to join our Bylaws and Compliance Team. This is a "hands on" proactive role, predominantly field-based with some office work required. This job places you at the forefront of our community and customer interface.

You will spend your days responding to customer queries, undertaking district wide patrols, and achieving compliance outcomes that align with our bylaws. The specifics include freedom camping, dog control, litter control, parking, outdoor display and dining and advertising and signs.

The successful applicant will have compliance/enforcement experience and be familiar with:

  • Monitoring compliance activities and promoting responsible behaviours within a community
  • Dealing with problems and complaints
  • Undertaking investigations and managing files through to prosecution stage
  • Report writing

The position requires some weekend and after hours work on a roster basis.

Working as part of a wider team but on a day to day basis working autonomously, you will establish networks, build relationships, and positively influence community activities in line with local Council bylaws and government legislation.

We are a ‘flexible ways of working’ employer and offer a supportive work environment, a commitment to high performance and the opportunity to work within a professional and enthusiastic team.

Leave the traffic lights and the city hustle and bustle behind and make the move to the Coromandel Peninsula. When you choose to live and work here, you can experience what New Zealanders feel when they are on holiday, every day! World class beaches, iconic holiday destinations, great backcountry tramping, biking, diving and of course fishing. All of which is only an hour and a half from Auckland, Tauranga or Hamilton.
