The Coromandel Peninsula is a place of outstanding natural beauty with a proud history. It offers dynamic landscapes, world-class beaches and craggy mountain ranges, home to a range of native flora and fauna. With settlements dotted around the peninsula, our Māori and European heritage is evident in many of our communities. Like any other district in New Zealand, Thames-Coromandel faces both challenges and opportunities. We are proud to employ people who are passionate about working hard for the benefit of everyone in the district. We provide a wide range of essential services for residents and visitors, ranging from libraries to dog control to water services. We play a crucial role in addressing coastal erosion and managing the effects of climate change in our area, especially for our 400km of coastline - to ensure future generations can enjoy this great asset. We aim to deliver all services efficiently and responsively. Our Council is one of the largest employers on the Coromandel, a fact we are proud of. We value our highly skilled, community-focused people who strive to make our strategic plans come to life, who embody our core values of integrity, respect, innovation and teamwork and strive to be the best we can. Currently our staff are divided into four main groups, each focused on a core area of service delivery. Continue your TCDC journey: To meet the Leadership Team click here.
