Maps & Geographical data (GIS)

The GIS site runs best when used with Chrome or Firefox browsers.

Geographic Information System Maps are a popular service on our website. We have a very comprehensive mapping system, called GIS (Geographic Information System), which has a wealth of information, photographs and maps in it.

Our maps have 'layers' of information relating to our services, assets and infrastructure.

If you want to find things such as our cemeteries, libraries, liquor ban areas and our dog exercise areas, you've come to the right place! You'll be able to find it all in GIS.

You can find:

  • Hazard zones
  • Splash zones
  • Wind zones
  • SNA and landscapes
  • Sea spray zones (spray zones)
  • Flooding zones
  • Legal parcel boundaries
  • Wharfs, boat ramps
  • Parks and reserves
  • Playgrounds
  • Public toilets
  • Aerial photography of the whole district (higher resolution for towns and major settlements)
  • Utilities and infrastructure (pipes, roads etc)
  • Archaeological and heritage Sites
  • Contour data
  • District plan maps
  • Covenant maps
  • SNA and landscape maps
  • And much much more.

Please feel free to contact us if you are having trouble finding what you're looking for.

Members of the public are also able to request hard-copy maps, which includes Council's data (subject to legislative and privacy constraints).

Charges may apply for this service. There is a standard print charge and provision for a charge for time taken for complex requests as per requests under the Official Information Act.

NOTE: Disclaimers as to accuracy and currency of data apply to all maps and data supplied by Council as do copyright provisions.
