A non-standard water connection is a connection outside of Option A - E.  TCDC Operations will request a quotation from United Water International Ltd for this work.

Wastewater and Stormwater Connections

For a wastewater or stormwater connection, the applicant must submit to Council, a quote for the connection from a TCDC Approved Utilities Contractor.  Payment based on the quotation and the inspection and application fee must also be paid at that time.

Council's Operations Team will send through an instruction to the approved contractor to proceed with the work.  Following completion of the work, Council's Operations Team must receive the as-built drawings before payment is made to the approved contractor.  The as-built information is then entered into Council's GIS system.

Maintaining your Service Connection

  • Know where your connection point is.
  • Do not bury your cover - keep it exposed for servicing.  Do not plant trees or shrubs any closer than 2 meters from the connection point.
  • Do not lay concrete paths of driveways over your connection point.

Following these simple guidelines will enable minimal disturbance to your property.

Neighbours Consent

In all situations where adjoining properties need to be entered and/or traversed to provide a service connection, a written consent for access and reinstatement liability is required from all affected property owners.

Connections through neighbouring properties require easements, which are the responsibility of the applicant/owner.
