Following last years busy Fire Season, in particular two substantial Vegetation Fires caused by high voltage power lines coming in contact with vegetation.
Thames Valley Rural Fire Authority is seeking the cooperation of rural land-owners, in particular those of tree clad lifestyle blocks, to carry out inspections of all high voltage lines crossing their properties to ensure vegetation is not growing through the power line corridor.
Land-owners are encouraged to contact their Power Provider, who will carry out the first trimming of any encroaching vegetation free of charge.
This Fire Prevention Initiative will not only ensure our area remains green, it may also save the land owner considerable fire suppression costs in the future.
